June 2018

Since I am a quite a bit behind on our family updates, I have decided to show the highlights of each month over the next year to get us caught up. In June of 2018 Abby had her birthday and turned 5. She loves all things sparkly, pink, frilly, and froofroo. I love having a girly girl, and she picked out a rainbow cake from Costco for her special day. We also went to see Incredibles 2 in theatre for our birthday tradition since that is the movie that just came out this summer. I can't believe she will be starting Kindergarten in the fall. We love our Abby girl. 

We have been trying to go see Grandma Rai and Aunt Julie as much as possible since moving back to Arizona. The kids enjoy swimming in their pool, and we enjoy meeting all together if we can convince Nate, Brooke, and Maddox to join us. It's a new concept for us to live near family again, but it sure is nice.

Summertime has been filled with silliness, and playing till you collapse. The kids are growing like weeds, and play so hard that naps are required for everyone daily...yes, even 5 year old Abby takes naps. For the most part they all get along together and play so well, I truly treasure these moments in our home. Things are not always rainbows and cupcakes, but I am learning to love the stage of life I am currently in.

Lots of swim parties and swim practices have been had. Abby and Connor are officially confident swimmers, and I am so relieved now since we have a pool in our backyard. My worry level has gone down, even through we do have a fence around our pool for extra security measures. Seeing the kids come into their own by making friends, being confident in the water, and adapting to life in Arizona is making me so proud. Every day we swim, swim, swim they are turning into little fishies. We love having a pool in our backyard and use it all day everyday. This has definitely been the best addition we have put on to our house since buying it. A pool in Arizona, with kids, in the summertime is a must!

We celebrated Kyle on Father's day, then turned around and celebrated his birthday. We love him so much and are grateful for all his hard work to support us, his family. Life is busy, but when we get to enjoy our time all together as a family it makes the crazy times worth it. 

For the 4th of July grandma Kaye came into town and we got to go to a St. Louis Cardinals vs Diamondbacks game. We were all excited for the game... but Brayden was Brayden and made it miserable for us all. Between climbing all over seats, bodies, crawling on the floors, going up and down steps, we were exhausted by the end of the night. It didn't help that the game went into extra innings, making it feel like the longest game ever. The firework show at the end was definitely the highlight and made the wrestling match with Brayden somewhat worth it. Happy birthday, America!

Kyle finally got to solo fly in the F-35. He has officially finished the TX transition course from being a F-16 to F-35 pilot. He will jump right into the IPUG so that he too can become an instructor pilot and train other pilots how to fly the Lighting. This is Kyle's 5th plane he has had to learn how to fly. I am amazed by his work ethic, humility, and determination. It takes a lot for someone who is advanced in one jet to voluntarily switch to a different jet and be bumped down to the bottom of the totem pole just to benefit the lifestyle for his family. Thanks, Kyle.

We finally found a peditric dentist in the area and the kids all had their biannual appointment. The dino chairs really helped ease the kids into seeing the dentist, but alas we did not escape cavity free this time. Abby (our sugar monster) needed up having a cavity filled, but luckily its on a baby tooth so she will loose it at some point. Nothing a little laughing gas, some drilling, and filling couldn't fix. Now she is back to her normal self, and I am more on top of her sugar intake.
