Thank goodness mustache March is coming to an end. Every year when March rolls around for some reason everyone in the Air Force (especially the pilots) feel the need to grow the nasty staches that look like caterpillars taking over their lips. Kyle's has gotten better over the years, but his salt and pepper stache is still quite disturbing and creepy. Kyle also thinks he is going to keep his chester the molester mustache while we are in China, but that's not happening...over my dead body! There is only one mustache I can tolerate, and that is Brayden's pacifier mustache and that's just because he makes everything look cute.
Speaking of Brayden, I know I say it all the time but he truly is the most angelic baby ever! I am so in love with this little boy. He is a great sleeper, great eater, and gives the most flirtatious smiles. We tried out the good old bumbo seat and it was a hoot. every time my kids try to sit up by themselves in the bumbo chair I can't help but laugh because their facial expressions are priceless. It's a combination of being terrified yet proud and excited that they are sitting by themselves. As his little bobble head swayed every which way he was nothing but smiles. After a couple minutes it became apparent that he was getting tired and couldn't hold his huge noggin anymore cause his head would slowly lower and lower till it was practically in his lap. We will have to keep working on it.
I just don't even know how it is possible that my baby is 4 months old. At Brayden's latest doctors appointment they told me to start introducing baby cereal and baby food to his diet. For Abby and Connor I didn't introduce baby food to them till they were 6 months, and only rice cereal at 4 months. Apparently the pediatrician said that the research is proving that introducing food at 4 months helps to reduce the odds of food allergies. Who really knows, but I will do as the doctor says and give Brayden some baby food in hopes it helps him be a happy, healthy boy. He has absolutely loved all the new flavors, especially Squash, sweet potatoes, pears, and apples. Besides that he is a healthy boy and the doctor has no worries concerning his growth and development. He loves bath time (even though he takes a bath in a pink tub...sorry kid), loves to talk (or should I say squak) at me in then car, and is beginning to roll around. He's our little inchworm that loves all the attention from mom, dad, Abby, and Connor. Definitely the baby of the family.
We decided to attend the dining out for the OPS groups on base. Kyle really didn't want to go, but he was persuaded when he found out his buddy Matt "Stonewall" Lavigne was going. Matt and Jenny Lavigne just got their next assignment to Shaw AFB in South Carolina and leave in a week. They have been one of our closest friends and we are devastated watching them leave. Once they leave Kyle will be the oldest Panther in the Squadron. We feel like it is almost the ending of a chapter as we have now watched everyone move away. Its crazy to think we are the oldies here in Misawa. Before we know it we will be on our way out as well.
The evening was everything you think it would be when you get a bunch of drunk pilots together. A lot of dumb games, delicious food, and story telling after story telling. They had a couple Jets on display and one of them was Kyle's! We have been trying to get a picture with Kyle's jet for two years now. It's pretty neat and rare that he got a jet while he was a 1st LT. Yes, tail 411 will always be Kyle's first jet of hopefully many more to come in different squadrons.
